Life Lessons
Despite what two out of three of my children may believe, I have learned some things in my 67 years, here are a few in no particular order.
Life lessons:
Shit and shower daily in that order
Take care of your teeth
Drink water, one-half your body weight in ounces, as of today that’s 117 ounces for me
Never pass a water fountain or cooler without drinking
If you are not urinating every three hours you are in danger of being dehydrated
Exercise
Be silent sometimes
Have a daily spiritual practice
Read something daily even if it is a cereal box
Be like IBM “think’
Be like Nike ‘Just do it”
Laugh at least once daily
Live everyday as if it’s your last and with as much joy, love and gratitude as possible.
Ask questions
Don’t assume, you will make an “ass” out of ‘U” and “me”
Journal
Talk to people (TTP, thank you bestie, James )
Try something new frequently
Remember the definition of insanity, trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
It really doesn’t matter what anyone does, says or thinks about you, it is your reaction to it that matters
To paraphrase my sweetheart, if someone loves you, thank them and love them back
Be happy for the success of others.
Do affirmations, nothing negative following the words, “I AM”
Pray, meditate, give thanks
Do not judge others or yourself
Forgive everyone, especially yourself
Follow Don Miguel Ruiz’s “Four Agreements”:
1. Be Impeccable with your word
2. Don’t take anything personally
3. Don’t make assumptions
4. Always do your best
Give generously and receive gratefully
You gotta have faith
It is done unto you, as you believe.
